About Our Church Service

At church services a lesson sermon is read from the Christian Science pastor — the Bible and Science and Health. The Bible Lessons are prepared in advance and published in the Christian Science Quarterly. Students of Christian Science read these weekly lessons each day and endeavor to put into practice the helpful spiritual ideas gained from them.

The lesson sermon is read on Sundays in Christian Science branch churches and societies all over the world. Although read in many different languages, the sermon is the same Bible Lesson, which preaches impartially from the pastor to each listener.  The lesson sermon is read by First and Second Readers who are elected locally by their congregations.

For Wednesday testimony meetings, the First Reader in each church prepares passages from the Bible and Science and Health on topics relating to the needs of the day. These passages, along with hymns and the Lord’s Prayer, are followed by accounts of healings, experiences, or helpful remarks on Christian Science from the congregation.

The public is always welcome and encouraged
to attend Christian Science services on Sundays
and Wednesdays.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God . . .
